This post summarises a decade of work and initiatives to create the best schooling experience possible — and here’s everything we’ve achieved so far.
To understand what I mean by “Education for Life” and how this idea took shape, do check out my earlier post. In essence, the vision is simple: to give every child a truly holistic education — one that nurtures academic, technological, cultural, social, physical, and emotional growth.
Today, the Basavaraddi legacy proudly runs three K–12 institutions in Dharwad:

1. Extraordinary Teachers
Our greatest strength is our teaching team — highly experienced, rigorously trained, and deeply committed. Every teacher at Basavaraddi has been with us for at least 2 years, with most having 10+ years of experience. Their dedication is what truly shapes our students. Meet our teachers →
2. Academic Excellence
We believe academics must spark curiosity, not just check boxes. For Grades 1–5, we go beyond the basics of state textbooks and use Crystal Books by Pearson. The impact has been powerful — many of our students clear the Navodaya entrance exam without coaching.Learning is further enriched through our Math Lab, Science Lab, and Outbound Learning programs. For Grades 6–10, we follow NCERT Books for Science and Math, ensuring strong conceptual clarity and national-level standards.
3. Sports at the Core

4. Co-Curricular's
Every year, multiple students and teams from Basavaraddi Schools make it to Cluster, Taluk, and State-level competitions in Prathibha Karanji — an inter-school co-curricular contest.
At the school level, students participate in weekly CCA competitions, starting with house-level rounds and advancing to the school-level finals. This structured approach encourages healthy competition, teamwork, and consistent skill development.
5. Hobby Classes
Basavaraddi Schools offer six hobby classes: Karate, Classical Dance, Classical Music, Physical Fitness, Coding, and Abacus. Students can choose according to their interests and develop a true passion. All classes are taught by external faculty who are accomplished experts in their respective fields.
6. Reasoning Ability
The foundation for excelling in competitive exams is strong aptitude. At Basavaraddi, students are rigorously trained to develop reasoning and quick-thinking skills, enabling them to succeed in Olympiads and other competitive exams. Reasoning is taught as a separate subject with its own Olympiad-approved books and exams.
7. Genius Batch
Advanced topics in finance and entrepreneurship can be challenging for most students. To address this, a select group is chosen for the Genius Batch, where they explore advanced concepts in finance and business management.
8. Cultural Alignment
Every class begins with a short Brahmari exercise to help students enter a receptive state. Students are taught slokas and vachanas every morning, and all major festivals are celebrated with teachers and peers. This ensures that every student stays rooted in culture and tradition.
9. Life Skills
Life skills often indicate future success more than academics. Through the “Ready for Life” program, students learn entrepreneurship, leadership, communication, empathy, critical thinking, and problem-solving in a structured manner, preparing them for real-world challenges.
10. Technological Training
Through the “AI for You” program and coding lessons starting as early as Class 3, students at Basavaraddi Schools are equipped with end-to-end technological education, including practical computer labs. Ensuring they stay ahead of the curve in an increasingly tech-driven world.
11. Basics Building / Remedial Classes
Not all students learn at the same pace, and some need extra support. Remedial classes provide dedicated periods for personalized attention, ensuring that every child achieves basic proficiency: fluency in English and Hindi, and mastery of the four fundamental operations in mathematics.
12. Principles of Education for Life
The principles of Education for Life at Basavaraddi Schools have been detailed in my previous post. In short, our goal is to create an environment where every student enjoys coming to school and cherishes their time here. Protecting and nurturing a child’s confidence is our highest priority.
Ongoing Mission
Pursuit is to achieve the feat of best school in Dharwad consistently. While we are proud of the progress and results so far, we believe the mission to “Educate for Life” is ever-evolving.
